Today was the third Art and Gardening session in the Pembroke Pocket Garden. After a group trip with Kathleen to the newly reopened Burgess Park to collect wood, the collection was taken back to the Pocket Garden to become the structure and furnishings of our first ever insect hotel!
Watering the garden again took priority as the most fun task for the children, but soon the insect hotel was well underway using two pallets as the main structure, supported by bricks and netting with logs, leaves and twigs as the 'rooms' for our insect clients.
Joseph had a great idea to use plant pots as circular windows, and with the help of the group our first slimy guest moved in...
